Who We Are | Our Fundraising Effort
This page is updated regularly to reflect our progress and your support. Thank you!
This Web site is a brand new approach to fundraising for public television. We have always depended on viewers for local station support, but now we're asking you to contribute directly to a national TV project that touches your own lives, your family and friends, and your community.
Adoption: An American Revolution has been in development for almost two years. We've created a project that will include a two-hour documentary special for national broadcast and home video distribution, a resource-rich Web site for adoptive families and the communities that support them, and a major outreach campaign to libraries and schools across the country.
A well-respected Board of Advisors has joined the award-winning production team. Public broadcasting is so committed that the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) have awarded the project $400,000 a quarter of the $1.6 million needed.
But that grant came with a deadline: we needed to raise the rest of the funds by the end of 2006 or risk losing the money. Now, thanks to your efforts, the deadline has been extended for one more yearbut for us, that's still very soon.
This is why, for the first time ever in public television, we are turning to you, our viewers, for direct program support.
